One wild stormy day

Today has been one stormy day. When Miss Long was getting ready for school this morning she found this photo of Tamaki Drive (over by Mission Bay). Look how much water is on the road, you can only just see the lines on the road. We wrote some stories about the stormy weather.

The car is by the sea. Adalyn

The water splashed on the road. Jeremiah

I think the huge wave was very big and the car is all wet. The people inside the car is all wet and the wave splashed the car. The people will be okay in their houses because the rain can't get them. Fe'ao

The car died in the water. The water is over the car. Tangi

I think the big wave went to the car. The car will sink in the wave. The people will open the door and run to the house. Melissa

The car is in the water. Zemily

The car was on the road and then the water was on the car. Deevah

The car is wet. The people are safe inside their house. Timote

The car splashed in the water. Toa

I think the big wave went to the car. Evana

I think the rain went in to the water and the water got deep. The wave went to the car. Nathan

The big wave splashed into the car. The wave was so big and the wave covered the road. The wave covered all the road. The big wave went to the houses the wave didn't let the people out of the car. Dania

While we were busy and safe inside one of the branches on a tree outside fell down. We got to see Mike clearing it all up.

Anzac Day Ceremony

Today we had our Anzac Day Ceremony, since we are on holiday on April 25 we had ours earlier.
We have been talking about Anzac Day and what it means to us in New Zealand. Here are some photos and some stories that we wrote.

The solidiers protected our world. The soldiers protected the people. They are very brave. The soldiers help people. The soldiers protect New Zealand.
By Dania

The soldiers were fighting for New Zealand. They were very young. They were brave because they protected New Zealand. I don't think they were scared. We buy poppies to remember the soldiers.

 Some local Police Officers came.
Mrs Bell read us a lovely book called The Anzac Puppy.
Les Booth from the Avondale RSA read us a poem.
Some children went and put poppies onto the wreath.

Super Spellers

In room 4 we have started super spellers. Every Friday we will have a super speller award.
One award for the person who has made the most progress in the week.
the second for the student who has tried their best throughout the week.

Last weeks Super Spellers are:
Fe'ao and Nathan!

Great work Fe'ao and Nathan, it is awesome to see that all the effort you are putting into your learning is paying off!

Duffy Books

Today we received our Duffy Books. This is a very exciting day because we LOVE getting our new books to take home and share with our families.

Nathan Gray spoke to us at our special Duffy assembly. He loved reading as a child and because of this he has been very successful. He has been on many adventures and has gone on to write about it!

Parents, please take the time to sit and share these books with your children. We are very lucky here at Rosebank School to be able to get so many books for our children to read.

Baking Anzac Biscuits

We got to make some Anzac Biscuits. It was very interesting. We had to be scientists. We had to melt butter and mix ingredients together. We also had to use our reading skills to read a recipe! It was a lot of fun - and they were delicious too!

Madame Butterfly

Here are the some of the photos from our trip to Madame Butterfly. Thanks to all those parents who came to help out.
