Maths Week
From New Zealand to Malaysia and back again
We didn't have family Over there so we made new family.
We didn't go to school there, we had a nanny and she taught us everyday. There were only three of us.
They have geckos like in Tonga - Nathan
Lots of festivals with Chinese dragons and a week of loud fireworks
It was hot and they had lots of storms and lightening
Because it was hot there were lots of fires and they don't really have a fire department like in New Zealand
The city was old and new together
There wasn't much to do so they went to lego land.
The oceans aren't as nice they went to the South China Sea
Here are some questions that we asked after they shared their photos and stories.
What was hard about moving to Malyasia?
The long plane ride and there wasn't much food I liked. I missed my friends and family
How did you talk to people that didn't speak English?
We kind of followed their language, we used sign language and smiled lots
Was the food the same or different?
Some of it was the same, Maisy's favourite was a pizza place that they went to. Oh and the cake shop.
Is it the same time in Malaysia?
No it's 9:30 here and it's 5:30 there. It's 4 hours different.
Was anything the same as in New Zealand?
They had McDonalds but that was about all.
What will you miss about Malaysia?
The science museum and the heat it is so warm and we could swim everyday
What did you miss the most about nz?
School and her pets?
Did you go to school?
No we were homeschooled and had a nanny
Sometimes it was so hot you couldn't go outside, we could only go to the mall.
We are happy to be back in New Zealand it is very nice here.
We are very happy to have you and your family back in New Zealand Maisy, thanks for sharing all about your time in Malaysia.
